Some Final Sprints

agathaBefore she heads to Botswana to work at a pediatric AIDS clinic, Princeton senior sprinter Agatha Offorjebe will step onto the track at North Carolina A&T on Friday night at 8:40 pm to compete in the first of five heats in the 200-meter dash.

If you place all the your stock in seed times, you probably aren’t expecting the San Jose, Calif., native to reach the final as most of the 25 competitors vying for the eight spots in the final have run faster this season.

But to count Offorjebe out is to ignore her journey, which began with an impromptu application to faraway Princeton. First a walk-on and now a Heps champion, she hopes to have a few inspired runs remaining. And if you want to see why she should never be counted out, watch this.
