Ten Ivy League track & field athletes have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Track & Field Team.
The team included four first-teamers, each of whom will advance to the national ballot. They are Princeton senior Megan Brandeland (Prior Lake, Minn.), Brown senior Nicole Burns (Newburgh, N.Y.), Harvard senior Rebecca Christensen (Celina, Texas) and Yale junior Chris Labosky (Tallmadge, Ohio).
The three women are all former Heps champions. Brandeland won the steeplechase at Outdoor Heps in 2008. Burns, who was injured mid-season, was a multi-time champion in the 400-meter dash while Christensen is simply one of the greatest high jumpers in League history.
Labosky, the only Ivy male selected, was a team captain for the Bulldogs as well as a former Heps’ middle distance finalist. He carries a near-flawless grade-point average in humanities.
