Yale Coach David Shoehalter expects big things from his group of quality seniors who have been “through the Heps ringer before.” … The Bulldogs, fourth at Heps last year and despite losing a strong senior class, will look to the talent-rich Class of ’10 to follow up a string of strong Indoor Heps performances … “Reynolds Holmes (Los Angeles, Calif.) is always a threat in the long jump and has proven to be a great big meet competitor,” Shoehalter said … Holmes has placed as high as second at Heps and has an impressive resume of scoring performances to his credit … Not surprisingly, his second place finish at Outdoor Heps last year came on his final attempt … “Chris Labosky (Tallmadge, Ohio) looks to have regained the form of his sophomore season and we’re hoping for a gutsy performance from him,” Coach added … Labosky, who ran 1:49 in the 800 two years ago, has recovered from a string of injuries and has proven that he is ready, once again, to be a contender at Heps in the middle distances … Yale will also be looking for points in both the individual events and the relays from senior long sprinter David Soiles (Worcester, Mass.), who Coach Shoe calls “back in shape and ready for a big weekend.” … Shoehalter is also hoping for some points from senior captain Jeff Perrella (Westfield, N.J.), who he says is “training well and looks to be a threat in the distance races.” … The strong senior class will be supported by underclassmen including junior Max Walden (Guilford, Conn.), who has the Ivies’ leading time in the 5,000-meter run (14:24.26), as well as sophomore Matt Bieszard (Midland Park, N.J.) and junior Marty Evans (Charlotte, N.C.) who have had a great year in the long sprints … The team’s top freshman performer has been Michael Levine (Commack, N.Y.), who has been a 55-footer in the weight throw … He is the first Bulldog freshman to ever reach that distance.
