Both the Princeton men’s and women’s teams will be in action at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., along with five Heps individuals. The Orange and Black men — led by Brian Leung, Donn Cabral and Marc Amirault — qualified automatically by winning the Mid-Atlantic regional while the women — who have finished fifth at the last two NCAAs — had to wait for today’s announcement of the full field by the NCAA Track & Field Committee.
Joining the Tiger teams will be Dan Chenoweth of Harvard, Jeff Perrella of Yale and the mohawked Tom Poland of Columbia for the men and Caroline McDonough of Columbia and Devin McMahon of Cornell for the women.
In all, 31 teams were selected to participate in each championship, including 13 at-large choices. Thirty-eight individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process. All individual qualifiers finished in the top 25 in their region.
The Championships — hosted by Indiana State University — will take place on Monday, November 22, at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The women’s race will begin at approximately 12:08 p.m. Eastern time, followed by the men’s race at approximately 12:48 p.m.
A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from noon to 1:30 pm on NCAA.com. In addition, highlights from the championships will be included as part of the CBS NCAA Fall Seasonal Show scheduled to air on Saturday, December 18 at 1 pm on CBS HD.
