Stublic überragend

Former Columbia distance star Lisa Stublic — now representing Croatia internationally — had already qualified for the 2012 London Olympics with a breakout marathon time in Berlin last summer.

Now she is just getting scary fast. At the OMV Linz Marathon last weekend in Austria, she bettered her own Croatian national record by three minutes and the Olympic A standard by seven minutes, winning in 2:30:47.

Sport 10 of Austria reported:

Bei den Damen siegte die Kroation Christina Stublic überragend in 2:30:47 und sichert sich damit den Streckenrekord von Linz vor der Bestzeit von Eva Maria Gradwohl aus dem Jahr 2008 (2:30:51).

If you can translate that, please do in the comments. The photo credit above is also from Sport 10 and we thank Gerry Groothuis, her former Lion teammate, with giving us the heads up.

  1. Greg Page says:

“For the women, the Croatian Christina Stublic won handily in 2:30:47 and in the process captured the Linz course record, beating Eva Maria Gradwohl’s 2:30:51 from 2008.”

    Or something like that…
