Nelson’s Through To Final


The ‘big three’ of American shot putting — Dartmouth grad Adam Nelson, Christian Cantwell and Reese Hoffa — all advanced to the finals at the World Championships, along with a fourth member of Team USA, Ryan Whiting.

Nelson was one of the final qualifiers, measuring a best throw of 20.23 meters (66-4 1/2) along with two fouls. The finals will take place on Friday at 6 am Eastern time.

Tomorrow morning, at 7:55 am Eastern, Morgan Uceny will make her run at gold at 1,500 meters, while Samyr Laine will begin his triple jump competition on Thursday night 9:30 pm Eastern.
