Nelson, Laine Finish Up

The IAAF World Championships are now over for the five Heps athletes after Adam Nelson of Dartmouth and the U.S. bowed out in the shot put finals (eighth place, 20.29m, 66-7) and Samyr Laine of Harvard and Haiti did not advance in the triple jump (16.38, 53-9).

Said Nelson: “I’m very disappointed in my results tonight and yesterday. It’s more motivation for me for next year. It was just one of those nights where I couldn’t get anything going. I tightened up between the warm-ups and finals. There’s no excuse for this. I’m too old and experienced for that to happen. But the good news is that I made a statement that I’m coming back and I’ll be ready for next year. I’m in great shape.”

So, who is in for London 2012?
