Looks like four is the score today for the Princeton Tigers as Alex Banfich, Donn Cabral and the Tiger men all finished fourth at the adidas Invitational in Madison, Wis.
The photo above comes from the folks from the track program at the University of Wisconsin were live-tweeting the elite event. Captioned “Some of the women from up front here at the Wisconsin,” you see that Banfich hanging with Oregon All-American Jordan Hasay, who finished second to Villanovan Sheila Reid. Banfich’s time of 20:13.2 less than 11 seconds of Reid’s winning pace.
Arizona’s Lawi Lalang won by a wide margin, but Cabral was ahead of Stanford’s Chris Derrick and BYU’s Miles Batty at the tape. In all, six Tigers finished among the top 80 at this super-charged event. Behind Cabral were senior Brian Leung (29th), senior Peter Maag (60th), sophomore Chris Bendtsen (64th), sophomore Tyler Udland (70th) and freshman Eddie Owens (77th). The host Badgers won followed by BYU, Stanford, Princeton and Indiana.
On the women’s team side, Princeton was 25th overall, two spaces in front of Columbia.
Meanwhile, the Penn men took seventh at the Penn State National Invitational.
