For both the long and triple jumps, the performance listings present a potential Princeton-Cornell battle. Cornell’s Steven Bell could win the long-triple jump double as he is currently ranked in the top two of both events and is the defending long jump champion, but Princeton will not make let Bell just simple take those titles. In the long jump, Princeton has two jumpers within four inches of Bell: the multi-talented Tom Hopkins and frosh Stephen Soerens. Princeton also has Shane Molidor who could jump to a potential upset in the long jupm. Bell also needs to contend with the defending triple jump champion Damon McLean of Princeton in both events. McLean is currently the only jumper to surpass 50-feet this season. Bell is not the only representative from Cornell, as he has teammates Dan Scott in the triple jump and Chase Aaronson, Han Wei Chew and Vince Formica in the long jump to help score points. Brown’s Kenneth Thompson is hoping to sneak in and place in the top six. — Mary Boggs
