Dartmouth’s Alexi Pappas is now officially the second fastest woman steepler in Ivy League history as last night at the Mount Sac Relays, she finished fourth in the 3000m Steeplechase Invitational Elite race in 9:58.07. Only Ashley Higginson (who won the 1500m Open race last night in 4:18.50) is faster with her 9:52.73 from 2011. Pappas was the only declared collegian in the event. PUMA’s Korene Hinds of Jamaica won the race in 9:42.57. A video of the race can be found on Flotrack’s website. Pappas’ time is currently the 2nd fastest collegiate time in the nation as Aisha Praught of Illinois State race a 9:51.30 to win the 3000m Steeplechase Olympic Development event.
