Proud As A PCawk

Last night we told the tale of Muhammad Halim representing HepsTrack at the Penn Relays.

Well, that led to a three-way Twitter conversation between Penn graduates Alejandro Shepard and Phil Cawkwell and HepsTrack. Within minutes, Cawkwell was switched from ‘unattached’ to ‘HepsTrack’ for the men’s open 5k at the Relays on Thursday night.

So get this, Cawkwell — who said that he was going to make the Heps Nation proud — won the event in 14:20.81 ahead of New Balance’s Steve Hallinan.

Amazing. The Nation is very proud!

Many Ivy Leaguers competed earlier in the day admist the overcast and sometimes drizzling conditions.  Some of the top finishers include Penn’s Morgan Wheeler (3rd – College Javelin, 144-9) and Kristen Judge (1st – Eastern High Jump, 5-6), Princeton’s Connor Martin (7th – Steeplechase Championship, 9:04.03) and women’s distance medley relay (5th – Championship of America, 11:13.40), and Cornell’s Emily Shearer and Katie Kellner (2nd and 3rd respectively – 3000m Championship, 9:25.95 and 9:26.46).  Two 4×100 relay squads (Princeton and Penn) and three 4×400 relay squads (Princeton, Penn, and Cornell) qualified for the College Women ECAC Championships section on Friday and Saturday respectively.  Stay tuned!
