Double N Doubles Again

Donn Cabral, who became just the second runner to win three Heps 10k titles last night, has now become the first Leaguer to ever claim three steeplechase crowns, winning in 8:43.59. The Tigers did some serious work in the steeple with freshman Eddie Owens (9:00.14) taking third and Tyler King (9:03.99) fourth. John Gregorek of Columbia is the one that broke up a potential sweep, taking second in 9:00.06. Princeton is now up 81-41 over Cornell.

Cornell’s Victoria Imbesi has won the shot put with a mark of 15.03 meters (49-3 3/4), well ahead of runner-up Shannon Watt of Harvard (46-2 1/2).

No surprise in the women’s triple as Columbia freshman Nadia Eke won with a best of 12.67 meters (41-7). In fact, five of Eke’s leaps would have won! Princeton sophomore Imani “High Socks” Oliver was second at 12.18 (39-11 1/2), edging Cornell’s Kristin Brandt (39-10 3/4) by less than an inch.

Penn’s Maalik Reynolds has defeated Cornell’s Montez Blair in an epic showdown in the high jump. More to come.
