NCAA Regional Qualifiers 2012

The NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Championship committee have announced the following athletes who will participate in the Championship Season.

In the multi-events, there is no Regional qualification as the top 24 national performances go directly to Nationals.  Congrats to Nick Huber of Cornell as his personal best of 7,632 has him seeded 13th in the decathlon as he has officially booked his ticket to Iowa.

In the West Regional, former Crimson Dan Chenoweth has qualified in the 5,000m run as the 12th seed in the region.

In the East Region, 120 Ivy League performances have qualified athletes for the next round. Cornell leads the number of qualifying performances with 25 (not including Huber’s direct ticket to Nationals) while Princeton is right behind with 24 performances. Cornell’s women 4×400 relay is the only Ivy League relay team to have qualified for Regionals.

See after the break for the full corrected list.

wow. a picture of a cornell athlete. what a surprise

  2. HEPS Alum says:

Greta Feldman is not running the 800

  3. Brett Hoover says:

wow… a Cornell athlete is the only person to currently be qualified for the NCAA Championships in Des Moines. Not making much sense here.

    • HEPS Alum says:

just saying maybe you should diversify the site a little.  take a glance back, and you’ll see that you seem to favor cornell an awful lot.  Did you go there?

      • Brett Hoover says:

LOL… I did not go to Cornell. Here’s a quick rundown. I worked at Penn for three years (and for the Penn Relays for 23 years). I worked on Princeton’s campus for eight years and had a summer intern who was the son of the head coach at Princeton. I work in New York City now and I see Columbia’s team and coaches quite often. In fact, I rode the bus to Indoor Heps with them. I have known Yale’s head coach since he was a student at Penn. I have known Cornell’s head coach for more than two decades. Could it be that you aren’t being terribly objective, anonymous poster?

      • Brett Hoover says:

Forgot to add a couple of points. The co-founder of this site ran at Yale. The co-editor hurdled at Harvard. The main photographer thru the years was a Brown parent. Now the main photographic contributors are a former Princeton athlete and a current Princeton parent. Can I guess that you are somehow affiliated with Princeton, by the way?

  4. Princeton Parent says:

Molly Higgins, Princeton, 1500 is a sophomore this year.
