Merber Wins In Mexico

If a track meet is committed to releasing its results with an Instagram photo via Twitter, Kyle Merber should be entered.

We first learned of his American Junior College record at Swarthmore in May via an Instagram photo and now that same platform has delivered the news that the Merb claimed gold for Team USA in the 1,500-meter run at the NACAC Championships in Mexico. Running 3:51.61, he held off a Canadian national and Oklahoma’s Riley Masters.

Princeton’s Alejandro Arroyo-Yamin — representing host nation Mexico — took bronze in the 10,000-meter run (31:39.99).  Columbia’s Leighton Spencer was also entered in the race, representing Jamaica, but he did not finish the race.
