Donn Cabral — Princeton grad and 2012 Olympic finalist — hit a new milestone today, earning his first Diamond League point at the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham, England. Cabral was third in the elite steeplechase field, finishing in 8:32.55 behind only Kenyans Jairus Kipchoge Birech and Abel Kiprop Mutai.
Meanwhile, another Ivy Leaguers won her race in Birmingham today, but unfortunately DL points were not on the line. Brown graduate Anna Pierce, herself a 2008 Olympian, held off Brits Laura Weightman and Hannah England as well as Canadian Hilary Stellingwerff to claim the 1,500-meter run. Others further back included Oregon Duck Zoe Buckman, Kenyan Hellen Obiri and American Liz Maloy.
