Welcome To The Midwest

There will be a lot of Ivy teams in action at the Brooks Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa., on Friday, but the two nationally-ranked men’s teams — No. 17 Princeton and No. 28 Columbia — will each be sending a ‘B’ team to Lehigh.

The Tigers’ top runners will instead run at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday evening (5 pm Eastern) in a five-mile race with nine other ranked teams, including No. 10 Florida State, No. 11 N.C. State and No. 14 Texas A&M.

The Lions are off to the Greater Louisville Classic to get a feel for the course that will host the 2012 NCAA Championships. Saturday’s race doesn’t have the depth of the Notre Dame meet, but it is more powerful at the top with No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 6 Texas and No. 8 Iona. It will be odd seeing Columbia run against Longhorn Kyle Merber. Somebody damn well better take a photo of the reunion and send it along!
