The Cornell women showed the power of a No. 7 national ranking at the Heps Championships today at the West Windsor Fields in Princeton, N.J.

With the school’s first-ever 1-2-3 finish, the Big Red won by a wide margin, scoring 31 points. Princeton won the battle for a distant second with 91 points, just three points in front of Harvard and Brown, who were tied for third. Nationally-ranked Yale ended up fifth with 108.

Cornell’s top three were Katie Kellner (20:28.5), Emily Shearer (20:30.8) and Rachel Sorna (20:31.8). Fourth and fifth places were held down by Brown with Heidi Caldwell (20:36.5) and Olivia Mickle (20:39.0).
