As we did with the cross country frosh in August, it is time to introduce the new faces of the track squads. The new class is made up of athletes from all across the USA, four Canadian provinces, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Sweden, New Zealand, Australia, and South Korea. With the first indoor meet this weekend, we’re assuming that they are eager to start their collegiate careers.
But there are three athletes who are looking forward to hitting the track for other reasons…
Columbia’s Sharay Hale, Princeton’s Austin Hollimon, and Cornell’s Bruno Hortelano-Roig will be returning to the Ivy League sprinting circuit after taking off the 2011-12 track seasons. Hollimon and Hortelano-Roig were busy training for Olympic Games qualification while Hale was recovering from a lingering foot injury. Don’t expect these seniors to take it easy in their final year of Ivy eligibility: they have been at or near the top of their respective events and they aim to be at the top of the podium come Heps.
Below are the indoor/outdoor rosters and any releases about the incoming classes.
