Gold Doesn’t Shine on Everything

ht-baiterIn Dec. 2010, five months before she’d post a season-best triple jump of 12.63 meters (41-5 1/4), Brown senior visual arts major Gabriela Baiter took off for a trip of a lifetime.

She and Jordan Apfeld, a member of the Brown Running Club, ventured to Eldoret, Kenya, with an HD camera, a considerable amount of storage and 100 pairs of running shoes “to discover the truths behind commercial running in Western Kenya.”

The trip became the setting of “Gold Doesn’t Shine on Everything,” a 10-part episode series — with Baiter serving as director and producer — blending interviews, stories and background on the Kenyan running (and winning) culture.
