The New York Road Runners and the Armory Foundation announced the fields for the Wanamaker Miles at the Millrose Games today and the Ivy League is well represented with six entrants.
The men’s race will feature five Olympians, including Princeton grad Donn Cabral (Nike). The others are Matthew Centrowitz (Nike), Australian Ryan Gregson (Nike), Lopez Lomong (Nike Oregon TC) and Irishman Ciaran O’Lionaird (Nike Oregon TC). Among the others are Columbia graduate Liam Boylan-Pett (NJ/NY TC), Princeton assistant coach Robby Andrews (adidas), Miles Batty (Asics), Ryan Hill (N.C. State) and Lawi Lalang (Arizona).
The women’s race is wrapped in Ivy with Dartmouth’s Abbey D’Agostino, Columbia graduate Delilah DiCrescenzo (unattached), Princeton grad Ashley Higginson (Saucony) and Yale alum Kate Grace (Oiselle). The field includes high school sensation Mary Cain (Bronxville, N.J.) along with Sarah Bowman (New Balance), Emma Coburn (Colorado), Jordan Hasay (Oregon), Emily Infeld (Nike Oregon TC) and Sheila Reid (Nike).
Higginson and Boylan-Pett are also scheduled to compete in Saturday’s New Balance Games. Higginson will headline the first-ever elite mile steeplechase contested at The Armory while Boylan-Pett is competing with a strong field in the mile.
