Delilah Dicrescenzo (Columbia ’05) and Ben True (Dartmouth ’08) (above) both finished in the top 6 at the USA Cross Country Championships this past Saturday in St Louis, Missouri, earning berths on Team USA for the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.  The event will be contested on March 24th, 2013.

Dicrescenzo finished 6th in the women’s 8-km race (26:57.2), which was won by Olympian Shalane Flanagan (25:49.0).  Other members of Team USA include Kim Conely, Deena Kastor, Emily Infeld, Neely Spence, and Mattie Suver.  Flanagan has opted out of the opportunity to compete at the World XC Championships as she is focused winning the Boston Marathon three weeks after the IAAF event.

Dicrescenzo later released the following tweet on Saturday: ”USA! USA! Achieved my first goal of 2013.  Heading to Poland with a great group!!”

True finished 5th in the men’s 12-km race (35:56.6), which was won by Chris Derrick.  Other members of Team USA include Derrick, Dathan Ritzenhein, Matt Tegenkamp, Elliot Heath, and Ryan Vail.

This is both Dicrescenzo’s and True’s second Team USA for Cross Country.  Dicrescenzo competed in the 2009 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Amman, Jordan, where she finished 33rd overall, while True competed in the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Punta Umbria, Spain, where he finished 35th overall.
