Columbia graduate Lisa Stublic, a native of Connecticut who has been living in and representing Croatia, took third at the NYC Half Marathon today. Finishing in 1:09:18, she was less than 10 seconds off the pace of women’s champion Caroline Rotich.
Stublic’s time is a Croatian half-marathon record. Last August she’d run the marathon at the London Olympics.
Princeton graduate Sarah Cummings finished 23rd among the women in a personal-best 1:15:17.
Penn graduate Michael Cassidy, who has performed extremely well in recent years in the NYRR-sponsored road races in the City, was 26th overall in 1:07:25. NYRR CEO Mary Wittenberg took the photo of Cassidy before the race began.
