First Look at the 2013 Outdoor Lists

nc_2012_javelin

Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the sunshine is?  Ok, I never claimed to be a poet (and I’m lucky to see the sun most days as I am cooped up in a cubicle during working hours), but the lack of sunshine and warm temperatures has not stopped HepsNation from attacking the outdoor track season these past few weeks.  With Outdoor Heps creeping up on us (FYI: it’s just over 3 weeks away!), it is time to take a peak at the event listings.  Yes, we know these lists are going to change these next upcoming weeks.  Yes, we know we did not include the relays and multi-events.  But we wanted to share this with you nonetheless.  We will present this again the week of Outdoor Heps.

The event listings are based on the Track and Field Results Reporting System database, with some slight updates as we know of some performances that are somehow not listed on there.

Interesting tidbits – you see the women standing on the podium in the image?  These are the 2012 scorers in the javelin.  All six of those javelin throwers are back in action this year and currently have marks in the top 10 of the event.  This is the only event across both the men’s and women’s listings where all of the 2012 scorers are back and in the top-1o of their event.  There are also three javelin champions standing on that podium – Brown’s Niina Al-Hassan (2012), Harvard’s Hannah Mayer (2011), and Cornell’s Victoria Imbesi (2010).
