Last year, Winter Storm Nemo crashed the East Coast near Valentine’s Day, forcing the cancellation of the BU Valentine Invitational and questions on whether or not the annual HYP trimeet would still take place at Princeton. Fortunately, a lot of the athletes who had aimed to run at the Valentine Invitational got a chance to quickly find an alternative meet (like Cornellian Nick Wade, who got into the Spire Invitational and ran his famous 3:59.998 mile). Also, Harvard and Yale were able to make it down to Princeton and the meet went on as scheduled.
This year, Winter Storm Pax aiming to do the same thing. Fortunately, nothing has been cancelled… yet. We will provide updates on this website if there are any changes to the schedule we present below.
Portions of all of the Ivy squads will be competing this Friday and Saturday all around the country. For many of these athletes, this weekend will be their last action before Indoor Heps on March 1st and 2nd. Plenty of Ivy alumni will also be competing this weekend, either at the Millrose Games in New York, Iowa State Classic in Iowa, or the USATF Cross Country Nationals in Colorado. We’ve included the event details for those competitions as we love our alumni.
As always, if you’re planning on attending these meets (or even want to share your struggles of travel during Pax) feel free to share with us on Facebook or Twitter. This includes updates, results, or photos. But please – travel safely in this snow!
