SPOILER ALERT! Did Greubel Medal?

The women’s 2-person bobsled competition for the 2014 Winter Olympics has concluded… if you want to know the results, check out the “more” link below…

She did it!

Jamie Greubel won the bronze medal this afternoon, piloting the USA-2 sled onto the Olympic medal podium.  Greubel is the first HepsTrack female athlete to win an Olympic medal in 22 years (Lynn Jennings won the bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games in the 10,000 meters) and first Cornell alumnus to win a medal since 1960 (Bo Roberson won the silver medal in the 1960 Olympic Games in the long jump).  UPDATE: HepsTrack has been informed that Cornell alumna Marion Greig (Cor ’76) was involved on the cross country team for the majority of a season in the early 1970s – she is best known for being a part of the 1976 Olympic bronze medallist Women’s Coxed Eight boat.

Greubel and her breakman, Aja Evans, finished a second back from the gold medalists, Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse from Canada.  The USA-1 sled with Elena Meyers and Lauryn Williams finished with the silver, only 0.10 seconds away from the gold medal.

Congratulations, Jamie!
