The last weekend before Heps… are we getting excited yet? We are.
We will begin our HepsWeek coverage on Monday with some coverage updates, followed by updated performance listings, and the beginning our event previews (as well as a mix of other interesting items in between).
But we have some competitions this weekend for a last chance to get good marks for Heps and for coaches to figure out what their championship lineup will be.
Columbia and Harvard will send some representatives to Notre Dame to compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational. This meet was moved up two weeks due to the change in NCAA qualifying window, as next weekend (Heps Weekend) is the final weekend for NCAA qualification. Last year, all of the men’s DMR squads that qualified for NCAAs ran their qualifying times at this meet. Will this happen again? Who knows.
Meanwhile, Brown, Cornell, Penn, and Princeton will be staying closer to home. Brown will travel up to Cambridge, Mass., to participate in the USATF New England Championships on Sunday. Cornell and Princeton will be hosting their meets: Marc Deneault Invitational on Saturday and Princeton Invitational on Sunday. Penn will be splitting their squads between the Princeton Invitational and Haverford’s Keogh Invitational. Further details on these meets, including live results availability, is included below.
Also, we’ve noted four HepsNation alumni are on the accepted entry listings for the 2014 USA Indoor National Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. Donn Cabral and Morgan Uceny are listed in the 1,500m. Cabral is also joining Dan Lowry for the 3,000m. Garrett Huyler is entered in the high jump. Action begins on Saturday, and you can follow the meet through online streaming at USATF.tv, as well as live TV coverage on NBC Sports Network (Saturday – 4:30 to 6:30pm EST; Sunday 3:30 to 5pm ET) and Universal Sports (Sunday – 2 to 3:30pm ET).
