Time to Go Big

Is it too early to start going big?  It’s not in Texas.

The 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays kick off today in Austin, Tex., the second largest track and field competition in the USA (behind the Penn Relays).  The multi-events will take place today and tomorrow at the Mike A. Myers Stadium.  Representatives from Columbia and Cornell will begin their contests on Friday afternoon – check here for the full schedule.  Full entry lists are available (Men | Women).

Last year, representatives from six Ivy squads competed at the Texas Relays, highlighted by Columbia’s Paul Snyder winning the University 5km Race in 14:29.75.

There are many ways to follow this meet this week – probably the easiest way is through the meet’s Live Results website.  If you’re away from your computer, you can follow the meet on your phone if you have twitter (#TXRelays14).  And if you’re fortunate enough to have access to the Texas Longhorns Network Channel, you can watch the event on TV (scroll to the bottom of this page for details).

Otherwise, you can check this website as we plan to share any notable results before we do our weekend recaps next week.

We will share more details about other weekend contests later this week.
