Turning Up the Heat

It is going to be another busy weekend for the Ivy League, as teams will be splitting up to compete in various meets across the country.

We have some of our top athletes competing in California at the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays, beginning on Thursday.  This meet has a long history of many athletes (majority of which are longer distance runners) who qualified for NCAAs and Regionals with the times run here.  Dartmouth’s distance queen Abbey D’Agostino will be making her outdoor season debut in the elite 5,000m race.  D’Agostino won this event last year and set a new conference record of 15:11.35.

If you want some good track and field action on the East Coast, follow the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday and Saturday.  Seven of the eight Ivy schools are scheduled to compete during this competitive two-day meet.

Meanwhile, Dartmouth and Brown will get to test out the Outdoor Heps meet site at Yale’s Mark Young Invitational on Saturday.

If you want some alumni action, follow the Oregon Relays this weekend, where alumni Kate Grace, Greta Feldman, Alexi Pappas, Mel Newbery, Nathan Mathabane, and Matt Miner are listed among the accepted entries.
