McLean Leaps into Glasgow Finals


Princeton alum Damon McLean competed under Jamaica’s colors yesterday at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.  McLean participated in the men’s triple jump qualifying rounds, where his best leap of 15.91 meters (52-02 1/4) qualified him for today’s finals.  McLean has a personal best of 16.15 meters (52-11 3/4) that he set at the Jamaican National Championships this past June.  Nigeria’s Tosin Oke had the best jump out of the qualifying round with 16.75 meters (54-11 1/2).  The finals will take place this afternoon at 2:10pm EST, with today being the last day of Commonwealth Games competition.
