Ford-Centonze Elected to USTFCCCA Board of Directors

Another woman from Dartmouth made history earlier this week.

Women’s head coach Sandy Ford-Centonze was elected as the new secretary for the USTFCCCA Board of Directors, as announced this past Tuesday by USTFCCCA.  The Board of Directors main role is to continue to lead the USTFCCCA organization as they continue to promote, support, and recognize collegiate cross country and track & field programs around the country.  The other newly elected Board of Director members include Damon Martin (Adams State – President) and John Foss (Indiana Wesleyan – At-Large Member), while Larry Cole (Rose-Hulman) was reelected as treasurer.

Ford-Centonze is believed to be the first Ivy League coach to ever serve a position on the Board of Directors. Her two-year term will begin in Summer 2015.

Other Ivy affiliates have previously filled in the role of Division I members who are eligible to vote with the Board of Directors on USTFCCCA matters.  Currently, former Yale men’s head coach Marc Davis (who is now the Director of the Track & Field/Cross Country programs at Troy State University) is a Division I At-Large member for the current term (which ends in Summer 2015).
