We’re here for Day 2 of the 2015 Indoor Heps Championships. Today, we kicked off the competition with two heats of the Ivy League Alumni Mile, where we had about 15 alumni from four schools race. The two heat winners were Brian Davis (Harvard ’90) in 6:04.35 and Phil Royer (Dartmouth ’13) in 4:21.83. We tried to get video of the two heats and will provide links to them when they are available (my camera tried to cut out of the seeded one early so I may need to do some magic to piece them together). We will also post full results when they are available.
The heptathlon hurdles kicked off the undergraduate portion for the day. Cornell’s Austin Jamerson had the fastest time of the multi-eventers with a 8.28, followed close behind by defending champion Peter Rhodes (Brown) in 8.30 and overall points leader Nico Robinson (Dartmouth) in 8.38. Robinson still maintains his overall lead with 3900 after 5 events, while Rhodes is now in 2nd place with 3861. Jamerson sits in 3rd with 3850.
Meanwhile, we have a few field events currently underway – women’s high jump, pentathlon long jump, women’s triple jump, and women’s shot put.
Just as a disclaimer – if you’re following this website as your main source of information this afternoon, I must warn you that with all of the finals going back-to-back, you are going to have to refresh the main page regularly to get the updates. It might be very quick and brief for those recaps as it can be easy to fall behind. Enjoy the show!
