The Ivy League will return to Princeton’s Weaver Stadium for the second weekend in a row, this time for the ECAC and IC4A Championships. This will be one last chance for HepsNation to improve their marks before the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 26th to 28th, where the top 48 declared athletes will be able to participate.
The competition will start tomorrow at noon (hopefully, the rain predictions for tomorrow afternoon will not impede the schedule) and continue until Sunday afternoon. A full schedule of events is available on Lancer Timing’s website. The live results website should be active tomorrow mid-morning – click on each event to see the full entry lists.
Last year, Ivy Leaguers won 9 events and had over 40 additional performances earning “All-East honors” (aka top 8 in their respective events), led by Cornell’s Stephen Mozia winning both the IC4A shot put and discus titles, Harvard’s Jade Miller and Autumne Franklin going 1-2 in the 400m hurdles, and a well-time lean by the Penn’s women 4×800 team to get the title – check out our summary of last year’s results.
In addition, a few HepsNation members are expected to participate in the New Balance Twilight Meet #1 at Bentley University on Saturday. This meet is NCAA compliant, so any marks from this meet can be used for Regional qualification. Entries will be posted on Friday (tomorrow). We do expect to see some HepsNation alumni based in the Northeast to also participate, like we saw last year.
