Harry McFann — a Heps’ 800-meter champion turned Gotham hipster — is working on a five-episode documentary series about the nature of New York City’s running scene and culture.
McFann — who is working with fellow Lion alum Paul Snyder — writes, “Our goal is to highlight the more humble and unassuming qualities of each episode’s subject matter, e.g. the daily routine and struggle of a runner in an environment inhospitable to one, rather than focusing on just flashy success stories. More than anything else, it is the humanity of running that we want to examine, and explore the different reasons people are drawn to running.”
Check out the trailer above, which features Kyle Merber, who has a much better track record of running safely in NYC than on Long Island and is now just 123 sub-four miles shy of breaking Steve Scott’s record.
And, of course, if you are interested in supporting them in bringing the project to life, you should donate some lifeblood.
