Only One More Night To Go

Men’s Race Preview | Women’s Race Preview

We have less than one day to go until the 2017 Heps Cross Country Championships return to Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

We have more details about the races tomorrow, thanks to the active Live Results link through LeoneTiming.com.  There will be updated splits for each race: the women’s 6 km will have splits at 3.1 km and 5.1 km, while the men’s 5 mile will have updates at the 2.1 km, 4.1 km, 5 km, and 7.1 km points.  Entries are visible on the live results link.  There are no surprising omissions, but even if the name is listed, there isn’t a guarantee that they will be on the starting time tomorrow morning.

Looking at the weather for the Bronx via weatherunderground.com, it appears that tomorrow will be ideal distance racing weather – sunny, high of 65 degrees.  There is a call for some rain today, but only 0.07 inches (essentially, nothing) and we do not think it will really impact tomorrow’s racing conditions.

Unfortunately for me, I will not be able to make the trek up to the Bronx this year.  If you are going to be traveling to Van Cortlandt either via I-87 or by taking the 1 subway line, feel free to provide the rest of the world updates of the races by using social media!  Back in 2015, Twitter user Jabronisaurus Rex was kind enough to Periscope both races and he advertised it on Twitter, (we helped share the Periscope link and he got lots of new friends that day).  You can be a savior too – use the hashtags #HepsXC and/or #IvyHeps on your social media posts so fellow HepsNation members can find you.  This can be via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat.  Each school has their own account across most those platforms (see below), so I recommend following them as well.  Feel free to contact us to let us know if we are missing a link.
